The 2014 BMW 535D xDrive is an easy car to maintain, with caveats. Accessing the cabin air filter will prove difficult, as its cramped position in the footwell and multiple panel and torx bolt removals will prove time-consuming. The lower radiator hose also lacks reliable access, located behind an incredibly bulky panel underneath the vehicle. Accessing some of the headlights may be a problem, too, as you’ll need to go through the wheel well lining to reach them.
However, there are many high points to the 2014 BMW 535D xDrive. Despite being located in the trunk the battery has very open access, allowing you to replace it without problem. The fuses boxes can be quickly found and come provided with a fuse puller to allow you to reliably troubleshoot any electrical issues. The air filter is easy to change, as well, as it doesn’t require any tools to do so.
