The 2013 Volkswagen Golf TDI is a moderately difficult vehicle to maintain, and is only recommended to someone capable of vehicle maintenance. To change the engine air filter with reliability, you will have to remove torx bolts. The tools necessary may not be readily available for a repair. Replacing the fog light can be a problem, as you will need to completely remove the housing for access to the bulb assembly. This will require more tools and steps than usual. You will need to remove a large panel from under the vehicle in order to access the lower radiator hose for a coolant drain.
Some things are easier on the 2013 Volkswagen Golf TDI. Changing the headlight is easy to do, as you only have to reach behind the housing for access to the bulb. Checking the oil level is no problem, as the oil dipstick is easily accessible in the engine bay. The engine coolant reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
