The 2008 Nissan Altima SE is a somewhat difficult car to maintain. Accessing the tail lights requires the removal of many fasteners, the trunk lining, and the bulb housing itself, which won’t allow for reliable bulb changes. Accessing many of the headlights may be a problem, as well, as you’ll either have to pry back the wheel well lining or remove many reservoirs to reach them. The cabin air filter also has a cumbersome set-up, as it is in a cramped location that may be difficult to reach.
However, the 2008 Nissan Altima SE has its upsides. Accessing the battery isn’t a problem, as both the bracket and terminals are exposed for quick removal. The transmission fluid dipstick can be removed without issue, allowing you to monitor the fluid levels with ease. The engine air filter can be accessed without using any tools, allowing you to reliably change the filter when necessary.
