The 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Convenience is a relatively easy vehicle to maintain, and a good choice for any vehicle owner. Changing the engine air filter is no problem, as you only have to disengage a few fasteners for access to the filter. These fasteners are easy to disengage. The fog light is easy to access, as you only have to reach under the vehicle for access to the bulb. The brake fluid reservoir is easily visible in the engine bay. This will allow you to check and replenish the fluid level on a regular basis.
Some things are more problematic on the 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Convenience. You will have to lower the tire from under the vehicle for reliable access. The lowering mechanism can grow rusted to the vehicle over time and be difficult to turn. Changing the rear wiper blade can be tough, as the blade cannot be raised very far off the vehicle. You will need a tool in order to remove this. You will have to remove either the headlight housing, or the tail light housing, for access to any of your bulbs. While not overly difficult, this will require the use of tools to complete.
