The 2006 Mazda 6 i is moderately easy to maintain. The battery is quick to find with open access to both its bracket and terminals, so changing it when necessary shouldn’t be a problem. Both fuse boxes have easy-to-remove covers and the one in the engine comes provided with a fuse puller, allowing you to troubleshoot any electrical problems with reliability. The brake fluid reservoir has very open access, making it easy to monitor its fluid levels.
However, the 2006 Mazda 6 i has its downsides. All of the headlights have very convoluted access, from tight reaches to multiple parts removals. For the parking light in particular a portion of the wheel well lining will need to be disconnected, which won’t allow for reliable bulb changes. Accessing the oil drain plug may be a problem, too, given the large panel underneath the vehicle that’ll need to be removed first.
