To change the headlight with reliability you will need to reach through the wheel well lining first. This lining can grow tight to the vehicle and be difficult to peel back. Reaching the tail light bulb will require you to remove the entire housing first.
Some things are easier on the 2006 Buick Lucerne CXS. The components of the spare tire are easily accessible in the rear of the vehicle.
