The 2005 Mercury Montego Premier is a rather difficult vehicle to maintain. You will have to disengage the wheel well lining, the bumper, and an extra panel before you can remove the bulb housing to access the headlights, which won’t make for reliable bulb changes. You will also have to take the housing out of the vehicle for access to the tail lights, which will require tools and be a time-consuming procedure. Accessing the AC port may be a problem given the cramped placement deep within the engine bay.
However, the 2005 Mercury Montego Premier does have its upsides. The battery has unobstructed access that will allow for reliable jumpstarts and replacements. The spare tire and jack kit are packaged together, which will make for easy access in the event of a flat. Changing the engine air filter won’t be a problem as the filter housing disconnects without the use of tools.
