The 2002 Chevrolet Malibu LS is relatively easy to maintain. The battery has unobstructed access in the engine bay, allowing for reliable access to the terminals and bracket in the case of jump starts and battery changes, respectively. Changing the fuses won’t be a problem thanks to the engine fuse box coming provided with a fuse puller. The spare tire and jack kit are packaged together, allowing for quick access in the event of a flat.
However, the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu LS does have some downsides. A bulb housing removal will be necessary to change any of the headlights or tail lights, which won’t make for reliable replacements. You will need tools to disengage the air filter cover before you can change the filter itself, which is a tedious set-up. Checking the transmission fluid will be a problem on account of the hard-to-reach cap and the lack of a dipstick.
